Tree Identification Box

$2 per person

Learn all about the native trees of Golden Pond in your self-guided walk about Lake Louise. Your box will be specifically prepared for the number of people in your group and ready for your arrival at check in.

Box includes:

Knot Tying Box

$2 per person

This workshop is designed to teach practical knots for many applications. Your box will be specially prepared for the number of people in your group and ready for arrival at check-in.

Archery (Seasonal - April 1-October 15)

$30 per hour | $15 per hour for youth groups

The archery range is located behind Legacy lodge and may be utilized by reservation between the hours of 8 AM – 8 PM daily. Rental of the archery range includes 3 targets, compound bows, recurve bows, long bows, and 4 quiver caddies. The archery range is not available for rental during our winter season of November thru April or during large events in Legacy Lodge. A certified archery facilitator must be present during the rental time. The archery range is rented by the hour with a maximum of 12 participants per hour.

1-hour rental, 12-person max

Canoeing / Kayaking (Seasonal - April 1-October 15)

$30 per hour | $15 per hour for youth groups

The canoe launch is located close to Wald unit and may be utilized by reservation of canoe rentals between the hours of 8 AM – 8 PM daily.  Rental of canoes can be reserved for youth groups, or they may be purchased by canoe.  Certified boating instructors are available for a fee, however private groups and families may sign a liability waiver at rental purchase.  If multiple reservations on the property rent canoes and kayaks, reservations will be time coordinated.  Canoes and kayaks are rented by the hour with a maximum of 20 participants per hour.  Paddles and life jacket rental included with canoe rental.

Facilitated Workshops

Facilitators are present for instruction.  Workshops added to reservations with youth are expected to have adult supervision during time of scheduled workshop with group.

Groups with more than the maximum participants can break their group into smaller groups and purchase multiple hours of the program.  For example, 30 participants would break into 2 groups of 15 with 2 complete workshops.

Archery with Instruction (Seasonal - April 1-October 15)

$60 per hour | $35 per hour for youth groups

The archery range is located behind Legacy lodge and may be utilized by reservation between the hours of 8 AM – 8 PM daily.  Rental of the archery range includes 3 targets, arrows, recurve bows, long bows, compound bows, and 4 quiver caddies. The archery range is not available for rental during our winter season of November thru April or during large events in Legacy Lodge.  A certified archery facilitator will instruct participants on the equipment terminology and technique of shooting a bow, as well as help through the hour program to help participants further develop their shooting abilities.  The archery range is rented by the hour with a maximum of 12 participants per hour.

Canoeing / Kayaking with Instruction (Seasonal - April 1-October 15)

$60 per hour | $35 per hour for youth groups

The canoe launch is located close to Wald unit and may be utilized by reservation of canoe rentals between the hours of 8 AM – 8 PM daily.  Rental of canoes can be reserved for youth groups, or they may be purchased by canoe.  A certified boating instructor will assist in life jacket fitting, selection of paddles, teach and review paddle technique, load and launch participants into canoes and give hands on instruction during time in the water.  If multiple reservations on the property rent canoes and kayaks, reservations will be time coordinated.  Canoes and kayaks are rented by the hour with a maximum of 20 participants per hour.  Paddles and life jacket rental included with canoe rental.

Traverse Wall

$30 per hour | $25 per hour for youth groups

A traverse wall is climbed horizontally, not vertically. Our wall is approximately 8’ high and located in the top of the building that is called the craft house.  The fun and challenge of a Traverse Wall is making it from one side to the other, rather than to the top. Participants are never more than a few feet off the floor as they climb horizontally across, the wall with a certified facilitator for safety.  Participants will be instructed in safety rules and trips to grip the mounts with hands and shoes.  Wall is rented by the hour with a maximum of 12 participants per hour.  Close toed shoes are required.

Tree Identification Walk

$90 per workshop

Learn all about the native trees of Golden Pond in this 1.5-hour workshop that walks participants around Lake Louise and the surrounding area.  Learn about different leaves, parts of the tree and how to identify trees according to their leaves and bark.  Workshop will utilize several different styles of books to identify trees.  Each participant will receive a Common Trees of Pennsylvania book courtesy of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Bureau of Forestry.

Time may vary depending on the size and age of individual groups.

Knot Tying

$60 per workshop

This workshop is designed to teach practical knots for many applications.  It includes classic Boy Scout and Girl Scout knots and more!  You will learn about different types of rope and the advantages and disadvantages of each one.  This workshop will give you a great foundation for basic knots to use at the right occasion at home, in the backyard or while camping!   

1 hour workshop, 15-person participant maximum

Fire Building

$75 per workshop

Participants will be introduced to:

Steps to Building a Successful Fire

  • Campfire Styles

  • Building a Fire

  • Campfire Safety

  • Building a Fire without a Natural Starter

  • Campfire Clean-up

Participants will end this workshop by breaking into smaller or individual groups to build and start their own small fire.

2-hour workshop, 15-person participant maximum

Campfire Cooking / Stick Cooking

$75 per workshop

This workshop will help explore all the different ways you can utilize a stick for cooking over the campfire.  Participants will learn about safety points while cooking with sticks and have an opportunity to try simple stick cooking as well as stick cooking that requires more patience.  Participants will have a sampling of the items prepared over the fire. 

1 hour workshop, 15-person participant maximum

Campfire Cooking / Dutch Oven Cooking

$90 per workshop

This workshop will help explore different methods for Dutch oven cooking over the campfire.  Participants learn about safety points while cooking with Dutch ovens and learn about the care of cast iron.  Participants will work together in a team environment to complete two different items cooked in the Dutch oven.  Participants will have a sampling of the items prepared over the fire.

Campfire Cooking / Box Oven Cooking

$90 per workshop

This workshop will help explore campfire cooking with a box oven.  Participants learn about safety points while cooking with box ovens and will work together in a team environment to make a box oven.  We will explore the difficulty levels of box oven cooking by preparing and cooking items in the box oven made by the group.  Participants will have a sampling of the items prepared.

Pie Iron Cooking

$90 per workshop

This workshop will help explore campfire cooking over coals with pie irons.  Participants learn about safety points while cooking with pie irons.  We will explore the different difficulty levels of pie iron cooking by preparing and cooking items individually on the fire.  Participants will have a sampling of the items prepared. 

2-hour workshop, 15-person participant maximum

Flowerpot Cooking

$90 per workshop

This workshop will help explore campfire cooking over a flowerpot.  Participants learn about safety points while cooking with flowerpots and all the supplies needed to put their own together after the workshop.  We will explore the difficulty levels of flowerpot cooking by preparing and cooking items individually on the flowerpots.  Participants will have a sampling of the items prepared.

Juliette Gordon Low

$20 program fee plus $12 per person

Learn about the history of Juliette Gordon Low and her influences on traditional Girl Scouting.  Workshop includes informational history, games, and crafts.
